"Mama Tried" depicts a mother tiger looking at her cub. It's about how we grow up and make mistakes, bad decisions, and maybe skirted with the law in repeatedly making the decision to do things that are illegal, perhaps. Having taken it's title from a song by Merle Haggard, the quote from the song sums it up better than I ever could.
